14,000 go wild as Gordon produces plenty of Sting...

English rock star Sting had a sell-out crowd of 14,000 people screaming for more at his Brisbane concert last night.

Sting - alias Gordon Sumner - last performed in Brisbane as part of the English band Police. This time he is solo and brought his new jazz-style band to the Boondall Entertainment Complex as part of his world tour.

Most of the songs from last night's concert were taken from his latest album, 'Dream Of the Blue Turtles', which has established him and his new band on the world's charts. But last night he included old Police favorites such as 'Roxanne' in a performance which had loyal fans screaming and clapping during his 2?-hour concert. Sting will continue his Australian tour after Brisbane and will perform in Sydney tomorrow night.
