A feast for the ears and for heart...
20 thousand fans had a great time at Warsaw's Gwardia Stadium ot the concert by two legendary rock personalities - Robert Plant (former Led Zeppelin singer) and Sting (former Police singer).
Robert Plant showed up on the stage at 7 pm. The assesment of his concert depends on whether you listened to it with your ears or with your heart. Those who surrendered the legendary charisma and magic of one of the most important bands in rock history jumped and danced at the bottom of the stage, where they could see the Master, they even made him play an encore. It was worth it, because they played 'Whole Lotta Love' - the milestone in rock style development. Encouraged with warm ovation Plant took off his black shirt and showed up in a red t-shirt with white eagle and ''Polska'' sign on it (transl. remark: Polish national symbols).
But it was Sting's show that turned out to be a real feast for ears and for heart. At the dusk the band showed up on the stage and started with 'If You Love Somebody Set Them Free' and moments later, loudly welcomed came Sting with his bass guitar. When he started singing, no one doubted who was the Star of the evening. His band sounded clear and dynamic. Sting played and sung really well - clearly and precisely, but with madness and feeling that one can only hear at the concert. The set was not bad either. He greatly joined new songs with old hits and Police classics. There was almost nothing missing, including 'Roxanne', 'Desert Rose' and 'Every Breath You Take' at the finale and Fragile for the encore.
