"I'm driven by my curiosity," says the Grammy winner. "I like to take risks. I don't want to keep doing the same thing again and again. I'd be totally bored to do that."

Sting is hitting the road all over the United States this summer, performing his greatest hits re-imagined for symphonic arrangement in such locations as The Metropolitan Opera in Manhattan, The Hollywood Bowl in L.A., Red Rocks in Colorado and Ravinia in Chicago. Selections will include such fan-favorites as "Roxanne," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "Englishman in New York," "Fragile" and "Desert Rose."

"It's the biggest band I've ever had - it's like 50 of us on stage - I don't know how we're going to get from city to city," jokes the former Police frontman, who used to act as his own roadie, packing up his own gear and driving a van from gig to gig. "I'm glad we came up that way because it really makes me appreciate my life now."

"It's incredibly exciting for me, and also a little anxious-making; to work with a symphony orchestra is a completely different mindset - they think differently and to get into their language, to communicate with them, you have to be careful of what you do," he continues. "I should've done it many years ago, but I think everything happens at the right time and I'm just thrilled."
