We have some important news for all current members of Sting.com (i.e. those with valid current memberships as of January 31, 2006).
With effect from February 1, 2006, the fan club is introducing what we term 'Legacy' memberships. Legacy memberships apply to both Premium and Basic level members. The only difference between Premium and Basic levels memberships will continue to be that the fan club DVD is issued to Premium members.
Okay, so what are Legacy memberships?
The purpose of Legacy memberships is to reward loyal Sting.com Fan Club members. From February 1, you can ONLY become a Legacy member upon renewal of your membership for a second year, providing that you renew on the due renewal date and do not have any break in your membership or change of username. The primary benefit for Legacy members is that for most future concert ticket presales they will have THEIR OWN pre-sale in advance of the main fan club presale (normally 24 hours before the main fan club pre-sale). Under this new scheme, members that join the Fan Club only to take advantage of the club's pre-sales (and this, inevitably, includes some scalpers) can still do so BUT Legacy members will have had their own presale in advance of the new members having an opportunity to purchase tickets. In other words, loyal Legacy Fan Club members get first chance at tickets in our presales.
So to recap, this note is purely to explain the purpose of Legacy memberships. Members do not need to do anything. No changes are required. If you were a current, valid member of Sting.com on January 31, you are now a Legacy member regardless of whether you are a Premium or Basic level member. Anyone joining Sting.com on or after February 1 is not a Legacy member, and cannot become one unless he/she renews their membership when it is due in 12 months time.
