Christian McBride and Sting will join forces for a Jazz House Kids benefit, Feb. 28.
Sting and bassist Christian McBride, who have worked together many times over the years, will perform and discuss music as part of the annual “The Lowdown: Conversations with Christian” series at the Ralph Pucci International Showroom in New York, Feb. 28.
Proceeds will benefit the Montclair-based educational organization, Jazz House Kids, founded and run by McBride’s wife Melissa Walker. (McBride is its artistic director, as well as a board member.)
McBride said in a press release: “I’m so glad Sting was able to join us for the annual RALPH PUCCI Jazz Set for JAZZ HOUSE in 2024. He is a dear friend of mine and someone full of knowledge and wisdom. I was honored to play bass on his album All This Time and in his touring band and look forward to playing with him again in February.”
Jazz House Kids students will join Sting and McBride in the event’s finale.
Past guests in this series have included Norah Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Laurie Anderson, Gregory Porter, John Pizzarelli and Esperanza Spalding.
