Been a fan since: 1995, when I saw IMAX's wonderful short documentary film The Living Sea and fell in love with the soundtrack :)
Favourite Sting song: Many lovely albums/songs to choose from; but, if I had to pick my top five Sting tunes I'd say: 'Fragile', 'Ghost Story', 'Fields of Gold', 'Why Should I Cry' (the 2010 Live in Berlin version is my favourite!), and 'A Thousand Years'.
Favourite Police song: It's a tie between 'Wrapped Around Your Finger' and 'Every Little Thing She Does is Magic'.
Favourite Sting album: Definitely the soundtrack to 'The Living Sea' <3 It was my 'gateway album' to the music of Sting and has been played many times over the years. My favourite Sting songs are the ones with similar style of that first album I heard: ethereal, graceful, beautiful and mysterious as the ocean, full of love, life, and the wisdom of experience with each new album or re-recording of a song. :)
Favourite Police album: 'Synchronicity' - my Dad gave me the vinyl after my first Sting concert, which was just a week ago! :)
Most memorable concert: Have only been to one Sting concert and it was wicked-awesome: road trip to see Back to Bass 2013 in Prince Edward Island on June 24th 2013 - it was memorable indeed, am still singing and dancing a week later!
Other favourite bands: I listen to music of all shapes, sizes, and colours; most especially I enjoy World, New Age, Classical, Funk, Comedy, and anything you can dance to :) I do have three top favourite singers, though: Weird Al Yankovic, John Denver, and Sting :) And the rest of my collection covers little bits of everything else - I simply love music! <3.
In your own words: Science, the communication of science, and art are some of my passions, and they flow freely through both my professional and personal life; moreover, as I navigate with joy along this, my own unique path in life, I love how music weaves its way to join us all for our journey. So thank you very much for sharing your own heart and passion with us through your music, Sting. <3 At the Summerside 2013 concert Sting mentioned he and Trudy once had to touch down in Halifax for a medical emergency and then mused returning for a proper visit - know we'd welcome the two of you back with open arms! :) p.s. Because my first intro to Sting's music was through a documentary about the ocean, I do associate his voice and song with that of the sea. Whether I am snorkelling in St. Margaret's Bay and exploring new underwater nooks and crannies, hiking a marine island, or body surfing a wave my mind often plays those delicate opening notes of Fragile as the sun shines, sparkling over our beautiful ocean. <3
