Sting joins "Ušce"...

The concert of the legendary British band "Polis", in front of about 30,000 people at Ušce, began on Tuesday at 10 pm with the song "Message In A Bottle". Throwing a "message in a bottle" into the audience, frontman and bass guitarist Sting (for his relatives Matthew Gordon Sumner) greeted everyone in Serbian: - Good evening everyone! How are you, Belgrade? Can you sing, Belgrade?

The audience responded with thunderous applause, and the "police" then played "Walking On The Moon", one of the hits with which these typical representatives of the new wave gained global popularity. The perfect sound was enjoyed not only by the audience in the concert hall, but also by the large crowd, who sat along the surrounding paths and groves. However, the others were deprived of the visual effect, because above the stage, which was 60 meters wide and 20 meters high, was dominated by a huge video beam, thanks to which even those in the last rows could see everything that was happening on stage.

"The Cops" lived up to expectations, and drummer Stuart Copeland stood out on several occasions, showing why he is considered one of the most inventive drummers in rock music. The group, which has recorded only five studio albums in its career and sold 50 million copies in just six years, played almost all of its "trademarks" such as "Don't Stand So Close To Me", "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic", "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da"... After 60 minutes of playing, the first encore followed, which opened with "Roxanne", one of the 50 songs that can be found in every jukebox on the planet. For this song, Sting had a choir of 30,000 people. This was followed by "King Of Pain", the superb "So Lonely" and finally "Every Breath You Take" from 1983, which is officially the most requested radio song of all time. This hit earns Sting $2,000 a day in royalties. Judging by the audience holding their cell phones above their heads (instead of lighters) during the entire performance of this hit, it was the highlight of the concert.

- Thank you Belgrade - said a sweaty Sting after her and left the stage.

The roar of the crowd called the "police" for another encore. "Next To You" was played, the 17th song of the concert, which lasted exactly 97 minutes.
