"Viva España" were the British singer's first words upon taking the stage next to the famous Café del Mar, after having agreed to postpone his concert to please fans of the Spanish national team. Attendees at what is expected to be the biggest musical event of the year on the island enjoyed ninety minutes of the match and another ninety minutes of a concert by one of the most emblematic rock figures of recent decades, who began his performance, as if describing the faith of football, with his song "If I ever lose my faith in you."
"Congratulations, Spain," "champions," and "congratulations" were some of Sting's words dedicated to the Spanish victory, and he even got the thousands of attendees at the Sant Antoni de Pormany musical event to chant "oe, oe, oe, oe." The Englishman not only reminisced about his classics solo, but also revisited Police hits with his band, causing a stir with "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" as the second song of the night. With the audience in his pocket, the sixteen-time Grammy winner then thrilled the crowd with the ballad "Englishman in New York" and got lighters popping to the rhythm of "Fields of Gold."
Accompanied by electric guitar, drums, keyboards, backing vocals, and a multi-instrumentalist on violin, guitar, and percussion, Sting didn't forget other great songs from the 1980s band that made him famous, such as "Message In A Bottle" and the seven-minute "Roxanne," in which he showcased the virtuosity of his vocals. The singer-songwriter appeared on stage twice for encores, which he capped off with the Arabic sounds of "Desert Rose" and "Every Breath You Take," completing the 17-song performance.
His 60 years have done nothing to diminish Sting's clear and unmistakable voice, nor his vital energy, which he displayed on a luxurious stage accompanied by a nearly full moon and the Mediterranean Sea as a backdrop. With impeccable sound and top-notch musicians, this was the only Spanish date on the British musician's summer tour commemorating his 25-year career, after cancelling his Canary Islands concert due to budgetary issues.

Magic! Englishman! Driven To Tears! Message! King of Pain! Roxanne! Every Breath! A greatest hits set basically. I bet they loved him.
